Symphony X es una banda musical de power metal progresivo estadounidense fundada en 1994 por el guitarrista Michael Romeo, aunque sus estilos varían desde lo clásico hasta baladas. Más específicamente, la banda podría definirse como "metal progresivo neoclásico". Si bien la banda contiene una fuerte base progresiva, es también representante del power metal, y se ve por algunos fans del progresivo y el power como la mejor fusión hasta la fecha y como un grupo que representa ambos géneros.
